“Lenatwasal” for Aphasia patients by NCMH
National Committee for Mental Health Promotion is launching a program called “Lenatwasal”; The program consists of different support groups for people with various communication disorders. Currently, the program started in Riyadh and has 4 active groups. Each group is led by volunteering Speech Language Pathologist and is held once a month.
The Aphasia group dedicated to caregivers of persons with aphasia. Consists of two speech language pathologists Norah Alghusun and Sarah Alamlik and Ghadeer Alobaid, a psychologist.
The teams mission is to provide support, counseling, and education to caregivers for individuals with aphasia, committed to enhance their quality of life and enabling them to peruse active roles in their societies.
As for programs policies; all support groups are free of charge; any individual who provides care for a person with aphasia is eligible and welcome to join. Individuals who wish to join have to sign up by sending an email with their names and contact information to this email address: Lenatwasal@ncmh.org.sa
